Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Directions

1Cream butter, both sugars and vanilla thoroughly.

2Add egg yolk and beat until light and fluffy.

3Stir in flour and oats; blend well.

4Spread in greased 7 x 11-inch pan.

5Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 20 to 25 minutes.

6Remove from oven and allow to cool. Melt chocolate chips over hot water and stir until smooth.

7Spread over baked cookie and sprinkle with nuts.

8Cut into bars while still warm.

9Chocolate will become firm.

10Makes 2 dozen.
