- 1 lb. butter or margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- sprinkle of salt and nutmeg
- 1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
- 1 lb. chopped almonds (optional)
Directions

1Cream sugar and margarine.

2Add other ingredients.

3Form into balls and pat flat about 1/2-inch thick.

4Bake slowly at 300° about 1 hour until pale tan in color.

5While warm, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

6Store in tins.

7They are better when aged.
