  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c. sifted flour

Directions

    Mix butter and sugar thoroughly.

    Stir in vanilla, then flour and mix with hand.

    Roll out into 1/4 to 1/3-inch thick and cut into fancy shapes with cookie cutter or roll into 1-inch balls and flatten on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Decorate with baking candy. Bake at 300° for 20 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Shape of cookie does not change during baking.
