  • 1 c. soft butter (not oleo)
  • 5/8 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. sifted flour

    Mix butter and sugar together.

    Stir in flour.

    Mix thoroughly with hands.

    Chill dough; roll out 1/3 to 1/2-inch thick.

    Cut into shapes with cookie cutters.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Tops do not brown during baking, nor the shape of cookies change. Bake at 300° for 20 to 25 minutes.
