- 1 lb. butter, softened
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine butter, sugar and about half the flour until mixed. Add the rest of flour and vanilla.

2Work with hands until smooth. Chill.

3Flatten dough to cover a 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan. Press edges with fork.

4Prick with fork here and there.

5Bake in a 300° oven for about 45 to 55 minutes or until lightly browned. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes.

6Cut into squares while still warm.
