- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. almond
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- red and green colored sugar crystals or plain
- sliced almonds (optional)
Directions

1Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.

2Add extracts.

3Combine flour and salt and blend into creamed mixture.

4Roll out on floured board to 1/2-inch thickness to form a 14 x 8-inch rectangle.

5Cut into 2-inch squares.

6Then cut square in half diagonally.

7Brush lightly with beaten egg. Sprinkle half of triangles with sugar crystals.

8Sprinkle other half with almonds and press lightly into dough.

9Bake on cookie sheet in preheated 300° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

10Yields 56 triangles.
