- 1 lb. butter (no margarine)
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 4 c. flour
Directions

1Place hard butter on a breadboard; add sugar on top and then flour.

2Knead the butter, sugar and flour together until it becomes crumbly (about the size of peas).

3Still continue to knead until this all forms into a ball.

4Pat to 1/2-inch thick.

5Cut with cookie cutters.

6Chill several hours or overnight.

7Prick well with a fork, and then bake at 250° until light golden brown on an ungreased cookie sheet.

8Place cookies about 1-inch apart, as they spread slightly when baked.
