- 1 c. fresh butter
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
Directions

1Cream very fresh butter and sugar together.

2(If butter is not fresh, your shortbread will have a very unpleasant taste).

3Batter is very dry and crumbly.

4Pour into 8 x 8 x 2-inch greased pan. Press dough with the back of a spoon until smooth.

5Prick with a fork.

6Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

7Cut while still warm.

8Can be frozen.

9Dough can be sprinkled with granulated sugar or sesame seeds before baking for variety.
