- 1 lb. butter (do not use margarine)
- 6 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sugar plus 1/2 c. more to sprinkle on top
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions

1Work all together until it forms a stiff paste.

2Press into a shallow baking pan about 1/2 inch thick and prick all over with a fork.

3Sprinkle lightly with sugar.

4Bake at 375° for 5 minutes, then reduce heat to 300° and continue to bake until golden but not brown (about 20 minutes).

5Serve with anything.
