  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. sifted flour

    Mix butter and sugar thoroughly.

    Stir in flour.

    Mix thoroughly with hands.

    Chill dough.

    Roll out 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick.

    Cut into fancy shapes.

    Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake (the tops do not brown during baking, nor does the shape of the cookies change) at 300° for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Makes about 2 dozen 1 x 1 1/2-inch cookies.
