  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Combine sugar, corn syrup and water and boil until thermometer registers 240° or until mixture spins a thread when dropped from a spoon.

    Add salt to egg whites and beat until stiff.

    Slowly pour syrup into beaten egg whites, beating constantly.

    When mixture thickens, add vanilla and nuts.

    Drop from a spoon onto waxed paper.

    Makes 4 dozen.
