Ingredients

  • 2 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 3 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/3 c. molasses
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 c. poppy seed
  • 1/4 c. sesame seed
  • 1 1/4 c. sunflower seeds (raw or toasted)
  • about 2 1/2 c. white flour

    Proof the first 3 ingredients. Add the remaining ingredients. Knead for about 10 minutes.

    Let rise 35 to 45 minutes in greased and covered bowl.

    Shape as desired.

    Brush lightly with egg whites and sprinkle with poppy seeds.

    Bake at 375°.

    Makes two 9 x 5-inch loaves or 1 large round.
