- 1 c. flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 1/4 c. boiling water
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients.

2Add milk, egg, oil and vanilla, blending only until smooth.

3Layer an 8 1/2 x 12-inch baking pan with cut up apples.

4Sprinkle a little sugar, flour and cinnamon over them.

5Add the cake mixture.

6Combine brown sugar and hot water, pour over butter.

7Bake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes.

8Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
