Sesame-Glazed Parsnips

  • 1 1/2 c. parsnips, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1 1/2 c. carrots, cut into chunks
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seed
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • juice of 1 orange

Directions

    Boil parsnips and carrots together until just tender.

    Toast sesame seed in skillet over medium heat.

    When they begin to turn color, add butter, maple syrup, salt and orange juice.

    Stir in carrots and parsnips.

    Turn heat to medium-high and cook, stirring until liquid is reduced to a glaze.
