Sesame Seared Bok Choy

  • 4 heads baby bok choy
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 T soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 T canola oil
  • 1 1/2 T sesame seeds, lightly toasted

Directions

    1. split the baby bok choy in half lengthwise and cut off the base. In a small mixing bowl, combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar and garlic to make a braising liquid.

    2. Preheat a saute pan until it is very hot. Add the canola oil and sear the bok choy for 1 minute, sauteing constantly. Once the bok choy is hot, turn down the heat to medium, add the braising liquid and continue to saute about 2 minutes.

    3. Toss the bok choy with half of the sesame seeds. Move to a plate and garnish with the remaining seeds.
