  • 1 each pie shell (9 inch) 9 inch, unbaked
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, light firmly packed
  • 1 pinch nutmeg ground
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 cup flour, all-purpose
  • 2 cups cream

    Prick pie shell and bake at 450 F 5 minutes.

    Set aside.

    Reduce oven temperature to 350F (180C).

    Mix the brown sugar with flour until blended.

    Spoon over bottom of partially baked pie shell.

    Combine the cream, extract, and nutmeg; pour over sugar in pie shell.

    Dot with the butter.

    Bake at 350F (180C) about 55 minutes, or until crust is lightly browned and filling is set.
