Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine, separated
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 heaping tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift sugar and flour into large mixing bowl. Combine 1 stick of margarine, 4 teaspoons cocoa, shortening and water.

    Bring to a rapid boil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla.

    Mix well. Pour into greased 9 x 12-inch baking pan. Bake at 375° for 25 to 30 minutes.
