  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Sift together sugar and flour.

    Place in saucepan, the oleo, Crisco, cocoa and water.

    Bring this to a boil and pour over sugar and flour mixture.

    Stir well and add eggs, cinnamon and vanilla. Add soda to buttermilk.

    Mix with above ingredients.

    Pour into floured and greased loaf pan.

    Bake 25 minutes at 400°.
