Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 16 oz. green beans
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1 beaten egg
  • milk
  • shredded American cheese

Directions

    In covered pan, cook potatoes in salted water about 20 minutes.

    While potatoes are cooking, brown beef with onion and drain off fat.

    Add beans, soup, water, salt & pepper.

    Mix together, place in 2-quart casserole dish and set aside.

    When potatoes are done, mash while still hot, stir in egg and add enough milk to make fluffy.

    Season with salt & pepper and spread over meat mixture.

    Sprinkle with cheese.

    Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
