Sherried Chicken

  • 3 whole chicken breasts, halved
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. sherry
  • 4 oz. can button mushrooms, drained
  • 1 pkg. McCormick gravy mix
  • 1 c. sour cream

Directions

    Lightly season chicken with seasoned salt (remove the skin and bones first).

    Brown in a Dutch oven; add sherry.

    Cover and bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

    Remove chicken to a serving dish.

    Measure pan juices and add water to make 1 1/4 cups liquid. Blend liquid and gravy mix in Dutch oven.

    Bring to a boil and simmer uncovered 5 minutes.

    Add mushrooms and blend in sour cream.

    Pour over chicken.
