- 2 c. light brown sugar
- 4 c. flour
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. molasses (Grandma's)
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. boiling water
Directions

1Mix flour, sugar and shortening together thoroughly.

2Put aside 1 1/2 cups.

3Mix molasses, boiling water and soda.

4Stir crumbs into liquid mixture until all are in but the 1 1/2 cups set aside. Pour into two unbaked pie shells and sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.

5Bake in 450° oven for 10 minutes and then reduce heat to 325°.

6Bake about 30 minutes.

7Use either 2 deep dish pie shells or make up your own:

82 cups flour sifted with 1 teaspoon salt.

9Cut in 3/4 cup shortening and work in 1/3 cup water.

10Use 9-inch deep pie pan.
