- 2 unbaked 8-inch pie crusts
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. white sugar
- 3/4 c. lard or Crisco
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 3/4 c. New Orleans molasses
- 1 1/4 c. hot water
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients together, cutting Crisco into mixture. After taking out some for top crust, add raisins, molasses, hot water and soda.

2Place batter in unbaked pie crusts.

3Place balance of crumbs on top.

4Bake in a 350° oven for about 45 minutes.

5Test pie with toothpick by inserting it into the center; if toothpick comes out without filling on it, the pie is done.
