- 1 lb. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 5 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Mix all ingredients together with hands.

2Divide into 8 (I usually divide into 4 rather large balls) parts and pat into rounds 1/2 inch thick on a cookie sheet.

3Prick with a fork.

4Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 15 minutes.

5Reduce heat to 300° and bake about 30 minutes longer.

6Cut into 8ths and return to oven until the edges are brown.

7Store in airtight container.
