- 1/2 lb. butter (set out day ahead)
- 2/3 c. sugar
- approximately 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. flour
Directions

1Cream butter; add sugar and salt.

2Add 1 cup flour at a time until all flour is mixed in; when adding third cup, mix in by hand. (You may not need all of third cup.)

3Put in ungreased round cake pan.

4Press firmly in pan with spoon.

5Smooth down.

6Take thumb and press around outside to create thumbprint.

7Prick top with fork. Bake at 300° for 1 hour.
