- 1 c. soft butter or margarine
- 5/8 c. sugar (1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp.)
- 2 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions

1Cream butter until consistency of mayonnaise.

2Add sugar gradually; cream until light and fluffy.

3Combine flour and cornstarch; beat in slowly.

4When all is added, mix thoroughly with hands.

5Chill.

6Roll out on lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.

7Cut with cookie cutter (about 2 1/2 inches). Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 300° for 20 to 25 minutes. (Should be just barely browned.)

8Makes about 36 cookies.
