- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 c. chopped green pepper
- 2 c. chopped onions
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 c. whole tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. water
- 3 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Directions

1Heat oil.

2Saute next 4 ingredients until tender.

3Add tomatoes and brown.

4Stir in paprika, cayenne, salt and water. Add a bay leaf and simmer for 15 minutes.

5Add shrimp and continue simmering for 10 to 12 minutes.

6Thicken sauce with cornstarch mixed with a little cold water.

7Serve with rice.

8Makes 4 to 6 servings.
