Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 8 oz. shrimp, thawed

Directions

    Saute onion, garlic, green pepper and celery in butter until tender.

    Stir in tomato sauce and seasonings.

    Simmer 10 minutes. Add water, if needed.

    Stir in shrimp.

    Bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat.

    Simmer 5 minutes.

    Serve over rice.
