Ingredients
- 1/2 c. onions, chopped
- 1/2 c. celery, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable or olive oil
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 lb. can (2 c.) tomatoes
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. chili powder
- dash of Tabasco sauce
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. or 3/4 lb. shrimp
- 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
Directions

1Using a skillet, saute the onions, celery and garlic until tender, but not brown.

2Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, sugar, Worcestershire, chili powder and Tabasco.

3Blend well and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes.

4Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon cold water and stir into sauce.

5Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles.

6Add shrimp and green pepper.

7Cover and simmer about 8 minutes or until shrimp is cooked.

8Serve over a bed of rice. Serves 6.
