Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 3 Tbsp. salad oil
  • garlic salt
  • 1 (16 oz.) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • dash of hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 12 oz. frozen cooked shrimp
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper

Directions

    Cook onion and celery in oil with garlic salt to taste until tender.

    Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, sugar, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce.

    Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes.

    Mix cornstarch with about 1 tablespoon cold water.

    Add to pan and cook until thick.

    Add shrimp and green peppers.

    Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.

    Serve over rice.
