Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. basil or marjoram
  • 2 (14 oz.) cans diced or stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 to 3/4 lb. uncooked shrimp

    Clean and devein shrimp.

    Set aside.

    In frypan, cook onion and green pepper in butter until limp.

    Stir in remaining ingredients, mixing well.

    Bring to a boil.

    Cover and simmer over low heat 12 to 15 minutes or until shrimp are firm and pink, stirring occasionally.

    Serves 4 to 5.
