  • 1 (4 ounce) can bamboo shoots, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon rice wine or 1/2 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 dash black pepper

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup boiling water
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    To make the filling:

    mix together all the ingredients except the cornstrach until the mixture is well blended and smooth.
