  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 1/8 pounds jumbo shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • milk
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • empanada wrappers
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius,

    Add the olive oil to a skillet heated to medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 8 minutes or until softened.

    Add the chopped shrimp and saute for 4 minutes. Add the flour and mix well.

    Add milk until a thick paste forms. the mixture is bound. Add salt and black pepper to taste.

    Fill the empanada/wonton wrappers.

    In a small bowl, add the egg and water and mix well.

    Close and seal with the egg wash and a fork.

    Bake the empanadas for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
