Ingredients

  • 14 cup olive oil
  • 12 cup flour
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, cut up
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 fish bouillon cubes
  • 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 14 teaspoon red pepper
  • 12 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 package frozen okra
  • 1 package frozen shrimp
  • rice (optional)

Directions

    saute onion, green pepper, celery, and garlic in oil and flour.

    add water, fish bouillon, tomatoes, worcestershire, black pepper, red pepper, and paprika.

    simmer for 10 minutes.

    add package of frozen okra.

    simmer 10 minutes.

    If desired, you can add some rice or barley at this point if you prefer a thicker soup.

    Add shrimp when ready to serve (to keep it from getting mushy) and simmer for 5 min (to warm it up).
