15 steps

Ingredients

  • 300 grams Chicken wing mid-sections (Cut in half)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sake
  • 1 tbsp Mirin
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Black Vinegar (You can use whatever vinegar you like.)

Directions

  1. 1
Combine all of the flavoring ingredients together.
  2. 2
Heat a frying pan on medium heat.
  3. 3
Pour sesame oil into the frying pan and start to cook the chicken with the skin side facing down.
  4. 4
Once they turn golden brown, flip them over.
  5. 5
Cover the pot with a lid and reduce the heat setting to low.
  6. 6
    Steam fry the chicken.
  7. 7
Once about 7-8 are golden brown, remove the lid.
  8. 8
Add the sauce you made in Step 1 and cook it till the sauce cooks down.
  9. 9
While it cooks down on a low heat setting, shake the frying pan from time to time.
  10. 10
    This helps coat the chicken.
  11. 11
Reduce the sauce until it is nearly gone.
  12. 12
While doing so, shake the frying pan and move the wings around so that they are evenly coated.
  13. 13
Once it's done cooking down, they're ready.
  14. 14
If you don't want to cook the sauce down till it looks like this, that's fine too.
  15. 15
This cooks down quite quickly, so be sure to cook it on a low heat setting so it doesn't burn.
