Simple Vanilla Pudding

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped topping (optional)
  • Candy sprinkles (optional)

Directions

    1 Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan. Whisk in milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, whisking constantly. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute or until pudding thickens. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla.

    2 Pour pudding into a small bowl. Cool to room temperature, stirring occasionally. Cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator at least 3 hours. Serve pudding with whipped topping and sprinkles, if you'd like.
