- 1 (15 oz.) box Raisin Bran
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 to 3 c. sugar
- 5 c. flour (may substitute 2 c. whole wheat)
- 5 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs
Directions

1Soak bran in buttermilk 15 or 20 minutes.

2Mix flour with soda.

3In another bowl, cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat slightly after each addition.

4Add vanilla. Alternately add flour and buttermilk mixture.

5Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

6Keeps 6 weeks.
