- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 c. half and half
- 1/4 c. pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 medium tart apples, cut in half and cored
Directions

1In 10-inch skillet melt butter.

2Stir in sugar and cornstarch. Stir in remaining ingredients except apples.

3Cover over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (6 to 8 minutes). Place apples, cut side down, in cream mix.

4Cover and continue cooking, spooning sauce over apples occasionally, until apples are fork-tender.

5Remove apples to individual dishes.

6With wire whisk, whisk sauce until smooth.

7Serve over apple halves.
