- 1 1/2 lb. round steak
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 2 to 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. dried whole thyme
- 1 c. water
- 1 bay leaf
Directions

1Pound steak to 1/2-inch thickness.

2Cut into 1/4-inch wide strips.

3Combine flour, salt and pepper.

4Dredge steak in flour mixture.

5Brown in hot oil in a large heavy skillet.

6Add remaining ingredients.

7Bring mixture to a boil and cover.

8Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour or until steak is tender.

9Remove bay leaf before serving.
