Ingredients

  • 1 c. soft shortening (part butter)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tarter
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Mix shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly.

    Sift together next 4 ingredients.

    Stir into first mixture.

    Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
  5. 5
    Roll these in mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Place 2-inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.

    Bake until lightly browned, but still soft.

    (The cookies will puff up at first.)
