- 1 cup soft shortening
- 1 12 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 34 cups sifted gold medal flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar, for coating
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon, coating for coating
Directions

1Mix the shortening, sugar and eggs together thoroughly.

2Preheat oven to 350F

3Sift the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt together and stir in shortening mixture.

4Chill dough.

5Mix together 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl,.

6Roll dough into small balls the size of a small walnut.

7Roll in sugar/cinnamon mixture.

8Place about 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

9Bake until lightly browned -- but still soft, about 10-12 minutes.
