- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cake yeast
- 1 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 3/4 c. lukewarm water
Directions

1Sift together flour, sugar and salt.

2Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.

3Add to dry ingredients.

4Add melted shortening. Dough will be soft.

5Turn out on floured board and knead dough quickly and lightly until smooth and elastic.

6Roll out 1/2-inch thick.

7Cut with biscuit cutter.

8Place in greased pan.

9Let rise until doubled in bulk, about 1/2 hour.

10Bake in hot oven at 425° for about 20 minutes.
