Ingredients

  • 350 g whole wheat flour
  • 100 g white flour
  • 50 g rolled oats
  • 30 g soft brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 30 g butter, softened and cut into chunks
  • 150 ml milk
  • 200 g plain yogurt

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.

    Place the dry ingredients in a bowl, then rub in the butter.

    Combine milk and yogurt, then pour into the bowl.

    Quickly bring the mix together, adding more milk if it's a little dry.

    Knead to distribute the baking soda evenly.

    Shape into a round loaf about 15cm across.

    Cut a deep cross on top, two-thirds of the way through the dough.

    Place on a buttered tray and bake for 45 minutes.

    Cool on a rack for 10-15 minutes.
