Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 tsp. each: ginger, cinnamon and cloves
  • 2 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 2 well beaten eggs

Directions

    Mix the first 4 ingredients together and add soda and flour. Then add eggs.

    Bake in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 350° for 30 minutes or until springs back like a cake.
