Ingredients
- 4 or 4 1/2 c. bread flour
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 1/3 c. water (warm)
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 1 Tbsp. honey
- coarse salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/3 cup warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let stand for few minutes.

2Stir together 2 cups flour, yeast and salt.

3Add liquid ingredients and beat 3 to 4 minutes.

4Add enough additional flour to make soft, yet manageable, dough (about 2 1/2 cups).

5Knead 8 to 10 minutes until smooth.

6Divide dough into 12 equal portions and roll each section into 15-inch rope.

7Roll lightly in coarse salt or topping of choice and shape into pretzel.

8Place on greased baking sheet and bake in 425° oven for 20 minutes.

9Upon removing from oven, brush with melted butter liberally on both sides.
