- 1 envelope yeast
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 4 c. flour
- 1 egg yolk
- coarse salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.

2Add salt and sugar.

3Stir until dissolved.

4Add flour and knead for 5 minutes.

5Form into 15 to 16 balls.

6Immediately roll dough balls between hands to form 16 to 18-inch strips.

7Do not let the dough raise at any time! Wrap into pretzel form.

8Combine egg yolk with 1 teaspoon of water.

9Brush onto pretzel top.

10Sprinkle with coarse salt.

11Bake at 425° for 15 minutes.
