- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter or shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 3 to 3 1/4 c. flour
Directions

1Soften yeast in warm water.

2In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, butter, salt and hot water; stir until sugar is dissolved. Cool to lukewarm.

3Stir in egg and yeast.

4Add 2 cups of flour. In electric mixer, beat on medium speed for two minutes.

5Stir in rest of the flour.

6The softer the dough, the lighter the rolls. Beat with a spoon for three minutes or until dough is smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place until dough doubles in size. Punch down.

7Cover tightly and put in refrigerator overnight or make out into rolls.
