Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 egg white
- kosher salt (table salt may be used)
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Combine flour, sugar and salt. Add yeast mixture and stir until well blended.

3Turn onto lightly floured surface.

4Knead until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes). Using kitchen shears dipped in flour, cut dough into 18 pieces. Roll each into a ball.

5With floured hands, roll each ball into a rope 14 to 16 inches long and 1/2-inch in diameter.

6Twist each into a pretzel shape.

7Place on lightly greased baking sheet.

8Beat egg white until frothy.

9Brush on each pretzel.

10Sprinkle with salt.

11Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

12Serve warm or cold.
