- 2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients.

2Cut in margarine until mixture resembles cornmeal.

3Gradually add water, stirring mixture with a fork.

4Turn out on a lightly floured surface; knead to a smooth ball.

5Divide in half.

6Let stand 10 minutes.

7Roll each half out in a rectangle about 10 x 12 1/2 x 1/16-inch.

8Cut into 2 1/2-inch squares.

9Fry 3 or 4 at a time in deep 400° fat for 30 seconds on each side.

10Drain.

11Roll in sugar and cinnamon if you want it as a dessert.

12Or serve hot with honey.
