- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions

1Cream butter in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Stir in brandy, mixing well.

2Sift together flour, soda, and nutmeg; add to creamed mixture, mixing well to form a soft dough. Chill 2 hours.

3Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface; roll to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with a 2-inch round cutter. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookies sheets. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheets, and cool on wire racks.
