  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. sourdough starter (to follow)
  • melted butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 c. butter

Directions

    Combine flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and sugar together in a bowl.

    Cut in butter until mixture looks like cornmeal.

    Add buttermilk and sourdough starter.

    Add flour until forms a soft dough.

    Turn dough onto floured board and knead gently, about 1 minute.

    Roll out into 1/4 to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter.

    Let rise in a warm place for 1/2 hour. Bake at 425° for 12 minutes or until brown.

    Brush with butter before baking.
